Girard Perregaux Alarm 7742 – ca. 1964
A perfect entry-level vintage watch!
Dating back to 1791 Girard-Perregaux has a very long history in watch making. There are some very famous watches and movements linked to GP.
This 1960s 7742 is making a great entry into vintage watch collecting.
The case is unpolished and all sharp! Serial numbers are perfectly readable.
Movement is is great working condition and has a powerful and fun alarm function. Basically this function can be compared with the JLC Memovox ones.
The movement is a hand wound Girard-Perregaux cal. 11 – which is based on the A. Schild cal. AS 1475.
The sunburst dial is almost in perfect condition.
All lume spots and the lumed hands are beautiful preserved and all original and have developed a nice creamy colour.
A blue-numbered alarm disc adds just the right amount of dynamic to the cream coloured dial.
The Girard-Perregaux Alarm comes on a great new length-adjustable perlon strap (made in Germany).
18mm lug-width.
For reference: The wrist on the pictures has 17.5cm circumference.
