HEUER AUTAVIA 2446C (T) – MKII – Valjoux 72 – Reverse Panda – 1970

Introducing the legendary AUTAVIA 2446C – a name that still resonates with automotive and aviation enthusiasts alike!

The name „AUTAVIA“ itself is a clever combination of these two industries, and the MK2 version from 1970 is a prime example of what made this timepiece so iconic.

One of the most striking features of this AUTAVIA MK2 is its impeccably preserved dial, complete with beautiful tritium markers in a warm vanilla shade.
This second version of the AUTAVIA boasts larger bezel teeth, a black dial with white registers and red accents, black-insert markers, and polished steel hands with luminous and black inserts. To top it off, the red chronograph second hand adds a touch of color.

HEUER cataloged these models in 1970/71, and they were available with three different bezel options: “M” for miles, “H” for hours, or “T” for tachymeter – the version we have here.

The case is in good condition but has visible signs of wear and tear. It has likely been overhauled over the years.

The snap-back case back (compressor case) engravings are no longer visible, unfortunately this is a common occurrence with well-worn and loved Autavias.
The serial and reference numbers between the lugs are still readable in good light.

The AUTAVIA 2446C is powered by a hand-wound Valjoux 72 movement in great condition, marked “HEUER-LEONIDAS,” which has been recently serviced.
