IWC Aquatimer Ref. 1822 – Full Set NOS – 1980
This one is fresh like a spring breeze and clean like a mountain lake somewhere in Alaska… what a beautiful time capsule!
IWC Aquatimer Ref. 1822 – Full Set NOS – 1980
This treasure find is probably a one-off.
Being stored in very safe conditions for the last 42 years, this watch is in near NOS condition. Dating back to 1980, this is one of the very first Ref. 1822 ever made and sold (overall production time from late 1979 to 1982)
The watch was sold on August 19, 1980 in Germany
Bonus: This watch comes with an unworn, original vintage “TROPIC SPORT” natural rubber strap.
Due to its 40 mm case size, this watch might also be interesting for collectors with a larger wrist. For reference: the wrist in the pictures is 17.5 cm.
Take a closer look at the pictures and appreciate this even, rich, darkened tritium lume for a while. Look at the razor sharp case and crystal clear dial…something you’ll not see very often, for sure! Overall condition is a clear 10 for this age.
Movement: The 1822 is powered by the legendary IWC cal. 8541B, Pellaton automatic.
Yes, It is not the first series Aquatimer R812AD (we had this on sale as a near mint condition over full set some time ago here), but still, this one has this great vintage Aquatimer character, and its available for a budget, compared to the R812AD.
Get your hands on a very special collector’s piece now!
