You may have heard of the Omega Seamaster “Jedi” – named after the iconic Star Wars characters – but this particular version we have is not a Jedi, despite the similarity in the dial design to the original Ref. 176.005. We see some dealers list this reference as a “Jedi” as well… It’s easy to make mistakes, and we’re here to learn from each other, right?
I remember when I started over 15 years ago, I had trouble distinguishing between the Speedy Professional and Speedy Reduced – but that’s just the evolution of knowledge.
This is a rare transitional reference 176.007, showing the first ref. 176.001 on the case back inside as well!
Not only is it stunning, but it also comes in a rare silver/gray version with sexy light blue hands and a dark blue bezel insert. The watch has undergone professional polishing, but the case remains in excellent condition – sharp and original.
The silver sunburst brushed gray dial and blue bezel, along with the hands, are in impeccable condition with only minor and hardly noticeable patina. The Omega 1040 (Lemania 1340) is an automatic-chronograph with 60 seconds, 60 minutes, and 12 hours, along with a small second hand, a quick-set date, and a 24-hrs complication. It’s a marvel of technology that will stand the test of time.
The Lemania 1340 was the first automatic chronograph movement to run at 28,800 bph!
